Christian Education – 63,000 SF Restoration of Historic Theater
The historic University of Utah, Kingsbury Hall was renovated under the direction of architect Don Mahoney, prior to his joining Building God’s Way. Kingsbury Hall has been a full performance theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah for more than 75 years. The exquisite space is home to many aspects of theatre activity, from educational performances for youth to international quality productions. The venue welcomes 200,000 visitors per year and operates as a nonprofit organization.
The restoration was accompanied by the design and construction of a new stage and support facilities. The architecture, gold accents and rich history display the uniqueness of this project. The versatile auditorium has a seating capacity of more than 1,900 with 730 seats in the balcony. The full orchestra pit and performance lighting has made Kingsbury Hall a premiere venue for performances (musical and theatrical) for decades.
