Embracing Change
through Practical & Intentional Strategy
No matter where your church is in its story, one of the hardest things you will ever do as a leader is to shepherd your congregation through change. We all know that change can challenge our comfort zones, stretch our faith and can be a divisive force if not led through with deliberate discernment and care.
We live in a world that is changing faster than ever and our goal at BGW is to help ministries embrace this catalytic culture head on. We believe that this is best done through practical, intentional strategic planning that takes stock of where your ministry has been and looks through eyes of faith into the future.
StratOp: A Customized Strategic System
If your ministry is asking questions like “What’s our vision?”, “How do we make a greater impact?” or “Is it time to expand or remodel our facility?”, you could benefit greatly from a proven strategic planning system to bring about alignment, growth, and clarity. StratOp is a customized strategic system that BGW and many of our clients have utilized with great success. It equips ministry leaders and teams to focus on what matters most, clarify their purpose, make their vision clear, and move forward with strategic impact. It’s used by organizations big and small, from billion-dollar global corporations to entrepreneurial startups, churches, and non-profits. We have found that as ministry leaders walk through this proven process, the pitfalls of the unknown are eliminated by gaining enlightening new perspective together. Fresh perspective creates clarity, gets a team moving in the same direction, and lays the foundation for transformational next steps.
Our partners at Headwind Planning Solutions are not only certified in facilitating the StratOp system, they are also experienced ministry leaders and church planters. More than just consultants, they are uniquely equipped to help your leadership team bring clarity out of uncertainty and help facilitate meaningful growth. Owner Mark Orphan is the former Executive Pastor at The Genesis Project in Fort Collins, CO and has facilitated the StratOp planning process with many faith-based organizations, including the leadership of BGW. If your ministry is looking to achieve greater clarity, alignment, momentum and growth, Mark and his team can help.
Aligning your Facility with your Brand Identity
Whether you’re building a new facility or trying to expand your reach in the community through an existing building, it is important to incorporate aspects of your brand into the aesthetics of the facility to reinforce your values and create a desired experience or emotion for visitors. A branding and awareness campaign can help you establish your unique identity, clarify your mission, and also help uncover the broader needs of the community and the challenges that need to be solved. Maybe it’s time for a refresh to add more color, meaning and energy to how you introduce your ministry, or maybe you need to engage more curiosity and create more interest through brochures, social media, mass email and websites; or simply help new visitors within your community find you, engage with you and stick within your church.
Our strategic partner, SPROUT Consulting, works with ministry leaders as well as corporate executives to develop higher impact and growth through strategic branding and marketing. Founder Jason Manarchuck is an experienced growth strategist & branding consultant, serving clients from Wall Street to Main Street, including Fortune 500 companies, and consulting in 10 countries including Israel, the United Kingdom, Honduras, and Austria. Jason and his team are experts in helping ministries to align their facility design with their brand identity. Learn More
The Missional Mindset
Our buildings can only be effective ministry tools if they are utilized with a missional mindset. We believe that God has called the local church to be a lighthouse in our communities. In order to sustain the calling we have been given to preach the Gospel to ALL people, we must be able to identify, assess, and respond to the needs of our community.
In this video, Pastor Matt Roberts, Strategic Consultant for Building God’s Way, reminds us what it means to truly be a missional church and shares some keys that can help you better identify, assess, and respond to the needs of your community. Learn how to break down the barriers between your church and your city and how to better equip and empower your people to lead with a missional mind-set.
Pastor-to-Pastor Coaching
We believe that pastors provide the best collaborative partners for other pastors. Who better to invite into the “foxhole” of ministry than one who intimately understands the challenges you are facing? BGW has partnered with experienced pastors of growing and embedded ministries that have a heart to walk alongside fellow pastors and support them in establishing a clear and vibrant missional identity. Led by Pastor Matt Roberts and his team at the Genesis Project, these Church Strategy Consultants offer practical wisdom for the unique setting of your community and your ministry calling.
Throughout the pastoral coaching process, you will gain the personal insight of an initial onsite visit, find personal rejuvenation through a personalized life plan for you and your spouse and receive weekly coaching and follow-up by another seasoned pastor. All of this will lead you toward a new and fresh vision of engagement in your life, family, congregation and community.
