25,000 SF remodel / conversion of commercial building
Forward Churchin New Albany, IN has a unique story. This now urban chic facility used to be a vacant and dilapidated print shop. When Forward Church secured the property, the church was only two years old, but growing steadily. They turned to BGW and S&B Construction to repurpose their building and transform it into a modern and sustainable worship facility.
The 25,000 SF warehouse was transformed into a beautiful church with a fully-equipped sanctuary featuring a high-tech AVL system, raised platform stage and artistic wood plank backdrop made with reclaimed wood pallets. The spacious foyer is used as gathering space with lounge seating and a welcome center. The Youth Area is a dream hangout for any teenager or young adult. Stocked with couches, tables, foosball, media equipment and a separate entrance, it has attracted many members of the community who are sticking around for Sunday service.
The Nursery and classrooms are large and inviting with all the amenities to engage children in active and creative learning. Pastor Neal Crouse has been thrilled with the record turnout each week since their dedication service in November where 330 people were in attendance. An event center across the street from the church has offered to share their parking lot with the congregants. The blessings seem to keep pouring in for this up and coming church.
