The Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology was an expansion to the existing campus of Darlington Technical College. Phase One included the Advanced Manufacturing Center. The two-story facility is just over 177,000 SF and includes convention space, an 800-seat auditorium, classrooms, labs, industrial training space and a variety of communication technologies.
The campus master plan covers 146 acres with community spaces near the welcome center that include two large pools and a main water feature. Special features integrated into the initial facility design include high tech informational kiosks, high security layout with alarmed doors, audio/visual control within each instructor desk, outdoor LED projection screen and an executive conference room.
