Phase 1: 49,357 SF; Phase 2: 5,000 SF Children’s Ministry Addition & Remodel

BGW completed two phases of construction for First Christian. Phase 1 was completed in 2013 and involved the construction of a new 49,357 SF worship center. Phase 2 was completed in September of 2020 and included a 5,000 SF expansion of the Kidtown children’s ministry space, along with accompanying renovations to the existing building.

Kidtown features a secure children’s check-in area with an indoor playground, a large multi-use worship space with classroom spaces for all ages. Tim Hurd, Children’s Minister for First Christian, said “Even before COV­ID restrictions, we were reaching max capacity in our children’s ministry areas. A more accommodating layout as well as the addition of new space is setting us up really well to provide a place for kids to better connect with each other and to grow in their understanding of the person of God. Each gathering space has its own identity and age-appropriate purpose.” Kidtown also is the site of several community events throughout the year.
