This vibrant church body needed to make additional room for the growing crowd of worshipers in the college town of Ames, IA. Cornerstone’s 92 acres of land holds a prime location on the corner of two heavily trafficked highways. The focal point of the campus expansion is a new 2,000-seat worship center equipped with a full performance stage, allowing the ministry to offer an amazing worship experience for young people, as well as provide additional outreach through self-produced drama productions available to the local community. The lobby “third space” gathering area features a warm industrial design, with polished concrete floors and exposed ceilings and provides a central access point to all the different ministry spaces within the facility. This gathering space includes an open baptistery that also serves as a water feature. The new facility also includes a state-of-the-art blackbox theater for youth worship and activities.
