Christian Children’s Home of Ohio (CCHO) provides a safe structured environment to meet the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of children from all across Ohio who have been abused, neglected and traumatized by the people they should be able to trust most. Research indicates that play and games can improve executive function, working memory and self-control in children with behavioral issues. In addition to the new recreation center, which includes a gym, this project also featured a significant renovation of the campus’s worship and retreat building, which is now a leadership center. It includes a new commercial kitchen that is quadruple the size of the old one, and the building is better organized to serve as a school, run by CCHO in conjunction with Summit Academy.
