Housed at the former West Grove Elementary School, Southland Community Church was founded in 2009 with its first meetings at a funeral home. The church offers a variety of services to the community, including child care, counseling and assistance for developmentally disabled adults. The new addition includes an auditorium that seats up to 700 people, with the ability for a future expansion to bring its capacity to more than 1,000. The expansion on the building’s west side gives the church increased visibility from the main access roads and the potential for visibility from the Interstate once the final section of I-69 is completed. The project also included the addition of a large lobby “3rd space” and the renovation of an existing cafe and classrooms.
