2-Story High School Building with Athletic Center, Science Labs, Media Center, Classrooms
Project Completion Date
Phase 1: September 2008
With a master plan that covers two phases of construction, Orangewood Church & Christian School worked with BGW to develop designs for a campus expansion for both the church and school.
The first phase of construction involved the addition of a two-story 50,000 sq. ft. education building to accommodate high school students. The new school facility includes four state-of the-art science labs, a media center, 24 classrooms, and a 10-room Children’s Ministry addition for Orangewood Church. The two-story expansion of approximately 10,000 square feet houses the new athletic center on the first floor, which includes a weight room and locker rooms. The second floor will be the home of Orangewood Church’s student ministry. The existing building was renovated to provide a new cafeteria/kitchen and separate choir, band, art and drama rooms.
The next phase will include a new 27,000 SF worship center featuring a large multi-use narthex and 1,500-seat communal sanctuary. This worship area will connect to the existing facilities and complete a cruciform concept. Church dedicated classrooms and church offices will also be added during the subsequent phase, rounding out the design and meeting all current anticipated ministry needs for the campus.
