Senior Pastor of The Genesis Project National Network & Author of The Book "The God of New Beginnings"
Matt is the Founder and Lead Pastor of The Genesis Project, a church based in Ogden, Utah that has grown to a multi-site movement in 6 communities across the nation reaching thousands every week. The Genesis Project worked with Building God's Way to develop a new worship facility with a full-service event center (Hub 801 Events), community coffee shop (Hub City Coffee), multiple ministry and rehabilitation homes, and non-profit community services. Matt will share how these business models have helped the church expand ministry opportunities while becoming an integral part of their community.
Matt's new book, "The God of New Beginnings", tells the story of The Genesis Project, a network of believers whose goal is to plant churches in dark places, targeting people who don’t normally "do" church. Reaching drug addicts, convicts, strippers, and gang members, they’ve seen God do amazing things with seemingly hopeless lives. Through these dramatic stories, Matt offers practical wisdom to pastors for breaking through the darkness in a person’s life.

HOST PASTOR: Bill Young, The Rock Church
In 2014, Pastor Young and the leadership team at The Rock Church worked with Building God’s Way and BGW Construction on the first phase of their vision for a new worship facility, completing a 14,500 SF building that features a contemporary sanctuary, large foyer gathering place with a cafe and fireplace, and a children's ministry area with classrooms and a secure check-in area.
The Rock is currently in the funding stages for the next phase of the project that will expand the facility to provide a larger sanctuary that will seat up to 600 and will feature a large performance platform, stage lighting, state-of-the-art acoustics, back-stage rooms and practice area. The new building will also feature a dedicated youth ministry center with classrooms, play area with large gathering space, multipurpose room, kitchen and office spaces - all with room for future growth.
Pastor Young will share about some of the key things he has learned during The Rock's journey of growth and facility expansion and the vision that God has laid on their heart for the community of Draper and beyond.
I came away with answers to things we have been struggling with and things we haven't even thought of!
