Our Company

Story Construction was founded in 1934 by Jim Thompson. Over the years, Story has an impressive collection of projects that have been recognized on the state and national level for their unusual challenges, complexity, innovation, and safety. Their employees strive to achieve excellence in every aspect of a project and their awards acknowledge these accomplishments. 

Quality construction and timely completion are achieved from Story's experience of doing major portions of the work with its own forces and equipment. With Story's computerized estimating and scheduling systems, accurate, realistic and timely cost estimates and construction schedules can be produced for any project. 

As a BGW Builder since 2001, Story Construction is pleased to have completed its first BGW project with the 2004 construction of Valley Lutheran School in Waterloo. The company is looking forward to the continuing expansion of affordable, ministry-focused worship and educational space throughout Iowa.
