Preliminary Design
We'll begin your high quality building design with a unique preliminary process. The first step in creating a facility plan is an intensive, on-site charette where our design team alternately meets with your leadership team and works on developing the design. This collaboration results in a strong launch of the preliminary plan, which incorporates the feedback and requirements of all stakeholders. Through 10 years of designing ministry facilities, we've learned a thing or two about what makes the process successful.
-
First, it really must be a design for your ministry. The architectural process begins with an understanding of your God-given ministry vision. When the design team understands the current needs as well as the future VISION of your church – only then are they ready to begin sketching your facility.
-
Second, the architecture should represent who you are as a body of believers. We strive to match the culture of your organization, blend with your regional requirements and meet your ministry goals. The flexibility of the BGW design solution allows you the flexibility to reconfigure the building or expand the facility to accommodate future growth.
-
Third, we develop the design from a stewardship perspective. We want to spend your money in God-honoring ways; so we incorporate free elements of architecture that keep building costs low, but design quality high. Before the preliminary charette, you would complete a financial analysis so the design is aligned with your funding potential. In the early days of BGW, we designed many, many building that were never constructed because – although affordable – the plan represented what the ministry wanted without taking sound financial planning into account first.
